Auto Accidents

Have you been in an auto accident?

Neck_Pain.jpg

Even the most minor automobile accident can have major effects on your body. When we are involved in motor vehicle accidents, thousands of pounds of force are exerted on the body, most notably the neck and spine.

Cervical acceleration/deceleration (CAD) injuries, more commonly referred to as Whiplash, occur when the head and neck are thrown or "snapped" back and forth very quickly. The result of this injury is damage to the ligaments, muscle, and discs of the neck and spine.

CAD can cause injuries to the head and neck, but also to the upper/mid back and lower back. These type of injuries can cause impingement, stretching and irritation of the local nerves and spinal cord. This can result in headaches, numbness, tingling in the face, arms or hands. Whiplash injuries can also lead to symptoms in neck pain, back pain, ear ringing, dizziness, hearing loss and blurred vision.

Why is it important to seek chiropractic care after an auto accident?

So often when we are injured in a car accident we do not seek care, this results in many accident victims never completely recovering from the injuries and possibly having to live with their continued pain in the future. Possibly even being forced later in life to endure surgeries or resort to pain medications.

Chiropractic care can be the difference between true recovery vs. lingering pain and long-term disability.

At Midwest Chiropractic and Wellness we take these injuries very seriously. Through our treatment protocols we are able to decrease patient's pain, heal sore and damaged muscles and ligaments, and aid in a complete recovery after your accident.

Is chiropractic care typically covered after an auto accident?

Yes, Insurance companies realize the importance of Chiropractic care and treatment is generally covered in full whether you are the driver, passenger, or a pedestrian and regardless of who is at fault. At Midwest Chiropractic, we bill your insurance directly to save you the time and make the process as simple as possible for you, allowing you to focus on recovery.

Anyone who has been in an automobile accident, even if there are no obvious symptoms should be examined by a professional who has experience dealing with these injuries. A complete examination performed by a Chiropractor can save you from a lifetime of pain and suffering. For all your auto accident injuries take the time to get the care you need at Midwest Chiropractic today.
