As your pregnancy progresses your rib cage starts to widen to make room for your organ systems getting pushed up and ligament laxity. Those mama's that are lucky get some kicks and punches to the ribs too :) Keeping your upper back and shoulder blades mobile and strong can help eliminate the rib pain and soreness.
